6 Degrees Muskoka

Artists, thanks for a great Summer 2009!

Close to 150 of you got involved in Six Degrees Muskoka last summer. You promoted yourself. Held events. Volunteered. Exhibited. Sold your work. Demonstrated. We loved your art; your textiles, jewellery, books, CDs, woodworking, furniture, metal, glass, pottery, crafts, multimedia, photographs, painting, sculpture, clothing, paper,…Muskoka is awash in talent. It is no wonder that we are a Designated Arts Community. Go Muskoka Go!

Exhibits 2009

Our Summer 2010 plans are still being determined as we continue to complete extensive renovations in all three storeys of the building. If you have been past, you may have noticed two “new” windows on the Taylor Road side. These in fact were part of the original Queen’s Hotel building, circa 1885, but were bricked over later! Watch here for updates regarding future exhibits.

Fast Facts about Six Degrees Muskoka, 2009:

  • 15 weeks: June 12 to September 15
  • More than 1,000 square feet of gorgeous mainstreet space in the original Queen’s Hotel building, a 120-year old building in the heart of downtown Bracebridge
  • 7 themed art exhibitions, a new show every two weeks
  • 150 artists, volunteers and community partners
  • 600 exciting pieces of art. Paintings, photos, mixed media, CDs, books, sculpture, fibre art, stained glass, jewelery and more
  • Dozens of live demos from artists across Muskoka
  • Thousands of admirers from all over
  • This community initiative would not have been possible without the support of many. Hope it was as much fun for you as it was for us!
